Happy Halloween! Munchkin was Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Here is a video of her night.

This is precious to me because Belle was such a book worm!

 I was super impressed that the entire class had their head pieces on! Munchkin's tiara didn't make it to the parade but it was on for a while!

 When Ms. Sarah said, "time for the parade, let's go", Munchkin hopped out of my lap and ran to the door. She did so well that I hung back a little to let her be a big girl.

 They opened the door and she took off down the hallway! haha

 Her daycare is in a loop, so I went the opposite direction to take a picture. She was doing great until she saw me and then she came running and refused to walk anymore. 

 We got back to the door and Ms. Sarah said, "time for snack", Munchkin RAN to a chair and sat down. haha

 The rest of her class was milling around with their parents, and my little Munchkin was sitting nicely staring at snack. Think she was hungry?

 mmmmmm! That's her pumpkin tutu by the way. She cried when I put it on her this morning, and then cried when Ms. Sarah took it off to put on her costume. haha

 Her tutu is covered in glitter... thereby, the whole classroom was COVERED in glitter.

 I'm probably supposed to make some Beauty and the Beast comment here, but it's just too cute for that.

 Daddy couldn't quite figure out the focus the camera, but it's a cute picture from far away.

 We went to a few neighbor's houses, just to say hi and introduce ourselves. One lady gave us bubbles, it was probably because we told her how much Munchkin liked her pumpkins. Their house is right in front of the mailbox, so every day Munchkin wants to go "walk box"and wave to the pumpkins. The day the pumpkin got a face was a big day!

 Then we came back and blew bubbles on the porch and handed out candy. Munchkin was a little anxious about most of the kids coming up, but she's apprehensive about all new people, not to mention people in masks or painted faces. 

Prepared

Good thing I zipped her up into warm fuzzy fleece pjs last night because it was actually freezing. Not sure at what point this happened

Sick Day

Today is day 3 of Munchkin being sick. She just has a fever and is super snotty, but Mister is working night shifts this week so Mommy is getting to stay home. We are starting to run into the same toys over and over. This is the newest toy we found, and she thought it was pretty hilarious.

About 4hrs before this, she was a little warm and tired, so I gave her some Motrin and she took a long nap. Promptly after this photo we went up and bathed and by the end she was shivering and wanted to be all wrapped up for a while. She came down for dinner and took maybe a few bites and that was it. Starting to make Mommy nervous! I pulled her out of the high chair, which always makes her a little warm, but she was roasting. Gave her a few minutes to regulate before checking, but sure enough 103.7. Sigh. Weren't her tubes supposed to fix everything forever and always? Guess Mommy's home again tomorrow. Whee!

Becoming Holey

We got up bright at early this morning to head off to Children's Hospital to get tubes in Munchkin's ears. It was chilly so Munchkin stayed in her pjs. 

 I was so impressed with Children's, I mean I had high expectations, but it was sooo neat. I don't think I've ever been in a self-contained Children's hospital. This was the lobby, they had a neat clock, a river that kids could play in, fun pictures and shapes on the floor. It was interesting without being over-stimulating. I was called, "Mom" as soon as I walked in the door as if they knew me by "name". As an early childhood teacher, I could see a lot of purpose in the little things, and it was greatly appreciated.

 Munchkin's nurse, Colleen, brought us toys and bubbles right away. Munchkin did NOT like her ankle bracelet, the blood pressure cuff, or the oxygen monitor on her toe. Thankfully, only the bracelet had to stay permanently. 

 Loves from Daddy. She warmed up to the staff ok, but she was pretty anxious every time someone new came in. But everyone that was going to be in the OR with her, came by to say hi and hung out for a few minutes so that they would be familiar. 

 We went down to the play room for a little bit and checked out the legos- naturally. Her hospital jammies were a little big. I think I rolled up the pants 5 or 6 times.

 She emptied almost the whole bucket by giving them to Mister to put together. 

 Then the Child Life specialist came by and showed Munchkin her mask. She got to pick between bubblegum and strawberry flavors. Obviously, we picked strawberry. Dr. Edmunds, her ENT, came back and played for a while and then carried Munchkin back to surgery herself. Colleen took Mister and I back to the "Pantry" where they had bagels and muffins for us for breakfast. We had a little picnic in Munchkin's room and waited patiently. Dr. Edmunds came back in about 10 minutes and said she did great! While she was talking with us, the anesthesiologist poked his head in and gave us a thumbs up. 

 Munchkin had to wait in the recovery room next door for about 15 minutes, and I don't think she liked that. The nurses thought she was so cute with her scarf because she would feel around and find her special corner to rub on her nose and ears. She got that from her Ah-Ha (Thank you Jesus, for letting it be a scarf and not hairballs). She was pretty upset when she came back and snuggled in, leaving briefly to get hugs from Daddy. She would sit with me for a while, and then try to get down (except she was super off balance), and would go reaching for Daddy, give him a big hug, and reach back to sit with me. haha 

 They kept us for a little bit longer and then sent us on our way. Munchkin passed out quickly in the car  and is currently still passed out in bed. Here's hoping she pops back up again! We felt all of your prayers and love, and were so grateful for them.
