A friend of mine posted this article today "I Wasn't A Good Mom" to Facebook. Man, I know that there are some days that I need to remember this concept more than others:
"...being a parent means many things, one of which is that I cannot always be the selfish mess I want to be. This makes me a better person, but it is also oh so hard..."
I'm going to try to keep this in mind as Munchkin and I tackle the next two weeks together with minimal plans. :) It's going to be great to just have some time, and we're going to have fun, but I also know that there will be times that I just want to be lazy and watch the View without someone saying, "Mommy Mommy Mommy"!
In other parental reflection news: I have had another opportunity to hear my voice through Munchkin. Today we were in the car, Mister and I in the front seat having a conversation. In the back seat Munchkin is singing and talking to herself, and then I hear, "Look at me, Mommy, Look at me. I hear birdies singing." Sigh, we've been working on the social rules of eye contact. Not in the ASD way, just in the 'be polite and look at the person when you're speaking to them' way.
If you're just getting to this one, you have 3 more below it with WAY more entertaining pictures of my princess!! So scroll away!
