Snow Day #2

Alarm 6:15--> Mister shower, Lady Snooze button
Alarm 6:30 --> Lady roll over
6:35--> Mister comes storming out of the bathroom "I can't believe they are just calling me now! I"m so mad I don't know if I can go back to sleep. I have a 2hr delay, if the driveway isn't bad then I'm going back to sleep." (lol)
6:37--> Lady checks news website to find that her school has been cancelled (no call)
6:45--> Family asleep again

So this is what the driveway looked like. It snowed all night and our driveway was dry! Awesome. There was, however, a 2-3ft drift at the garage and at the bottom of our driveway. Whatever, it was worth it.
Munchkin and Lady went out after nap to check out the backyard.
To the left of Munchkin starts about 3" of snow and progresses up to about 6-8". Prior knowledge leads me to believe that we have a few drifts up to a foot. Reminds me of a sand bar in the Gulf.
Let's talk about Dash photo-bombing my precious photo shoot with Munchkin. Dixie LOVES the snow and dives in immediately, burying her face digging for snowballs, jumping after snow that's being thrown. Something about this + cold brings out the testosterone in Dash. *eye roll*
Example A: Here is the cropped shareable picture.
Here is the original. There are a lot of these. *sigh* boys!
Anyway, Munchkin loved the snow, and wanted to walk around in the deeper snow.
 So silly!!
 Following the leader
Munchkin fell down a lot, but I held on to my "mommy gut" and let her get herself back up most of the time.
 Brush it off, Munchkin
Wipe your face,
 Ready to go again!
I like this picture, because when you see it up close you can see the snow flying as she brushes her gloves off after another fall.
 Like a champ!
Don't worry Mama, I got this!

We've been playing with our baby doll a LOT lately. She puts her to bed and covers her with a blanket, pats her back, and says "shhh". We're working on expanding to feeding and other things, because she can 'put baby night night' for a LONG time. Well, our expansion has spread to other "dolls" like Dixie.
Big hugs for Dixie as she goes 'night night'. Side note: Dixie has become sooo good with Munchkin lately. She lets her hug/grab/clothes line/choke hold her and give her kisses or force feed her 'tea'. Dixie used to run away to stay out of Munchkin's reach, but now she tolerates being a play toy in exchange for occasional belly scratches. Sweet dogs.

A request for AhHa

Munchkin has a small handful of books up in her bedroom for bedtime reading. We change them out every few weeks for her entertainment and ours. :) Tonight we took up new books and one of them was the Duchess of Whimsey, a new book from AhHa for Christmas. We read a few other books and then I pulled out the book about the Duchess and said it was a princess book. She took one look at the picture and said "Fancy Nancy".  She kept calling her Fancy Nancy but wasn't really interested in her story. haha So I grabbed my phone and put in our request to AhHa for more Fancy Nancy next time she gets to a holiday that involves presents. Our Christmas Fancy Nancy got put away for next year, but apparently the 3 weeks we read it made their mark. Good find AhHa!

Peanut Butter Jelly Time

Hi friends! It was beautiful today, we hit 50 degrees for the 2nd day in a row! Munchkin really wanted to be outside and run nonstop. Here is a longer (2min) video of us playing outside. She picked out her outfit by the way. I even tried putting on a different one and she said "no, off, please mama". So, we went and looked through her closet and she wanted to wear "Daddy's shirt" and she did NOT want pants, she wanted a skirt. Then she wanted her red shiny shoes. *sigh* I foresee some wild outfits in our future.
After a few months of cold we decided to try going to the zoo! Unfortunately, everyone else had the same idea too. We went with an hour left to close and people were still piling in and there were actually no parking spots. We were pretty bummed about it because they have baby lions at our zoo. They were born December 29th!  So little!!!
So we pressed on, and decided to do a little exploring Omaha. We had only driven through Midtown so far, and they have a fun park/shopping/hotel/movie/restaurant area. So we took Munchkin for some more running and good pictures.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this picture
 Running running running
My next favorite sequence. I love the joy

Now then, after this, we took Mister to pick up his truck from an oil change and on the way home Lady picked up a nail in her tire and we had to stop and change it. Then we still had to go to the store and Munchkin was so good. So she got a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and some cheesies for dinner. This is the 2nd time I've allowed her to try strawberry jam and grape jelly and choose, and she's chosen purple jelly both times. Well, this next video is the result of jelly for dinner.

Freezing

It's freezing out. Last week was the first time we hit upper 30s in probably a month. Munchkin and I took a long walk to the store and saw the men ice fishing on our pond. Munchkin was confused about where the fish were.

Here is evidence of Munchkin's first black eye. My assumption is that she stood up on her toddler rail and took a flying leap off. The facts are: 1. I watched her try to stand on the toddler rail the night before but fail and promptly go to sleep, 2. I put her down to bed and she was laying down when I left, 3. before we got the monitor we heard a big thud and then crying, 4. she had an immediate bruise on her eyelid.
Puppies got a new sleeping bag and they are very happy!
Today we had a dry 30 and Munchkin was really wanting to walk on the snow. So we kept our coats on and took the dogs out to play for the first time since before Christmas, at least.
Here's a little more dancing for you, but mostly crunching in the snow.

Girl's night

We're having a girl's night tonight. We had leftover pizza and danced while we did laundry.

Apparently Munchkin is working on her robot.
**please excuse our 3rd outfit of the day and post-pigtail hair :) We're a little wild tonight!!

Traveling videos

Kicking through the leaves at Nana's

Traveling Time

We decided to travel to Texas for New Years and stay to visit with friends and Grandparents.
Nap time was a little tricky in the car, but we had ALL of our bedtime gear! She only took about an hour nap each way and got very tired of being in the car seat.
One of Lady's co-workers let us borrow their portable dvd player. It was magic. This is Munchkin being very worried about Nemo.
We stopped in Dallas and had lunch with Ms. Sunny.
We stayed at "Joey's House". Munchkin was a little wary of Mr. Justin, but she kept peeking at him and smiling, and she let him carry her to the car when we left.
 She loved playing with Joey
 They played 'wake-up Joey'
After Munchkin went to bed, the grown ups counted down to 2013!
 In our jammies!!!
 Silly Henrys
Then we moved on to Brenham and played with the other Ms. Sunni!
 Lots of coloring with Gramma
G-dad Ross came by to visit too!
 Somebody's smitten!
Poor Max got a ride in Munchkin's new stroller
 He was not pleased.
Munchkin took a turn on Grandpa horsie. Mac wanted to play too.
Silly girl wanted to wear her pumpkin hat for bed time.
Then we drove up to Nana's to pick up the dogs before we came back home.
Munchkin loved kicking through the leaves. We don't have many of those here at home.
