Father's Day Golfing

So for Munchkin's birthday, one of her presents from Nana & Pop-O was a set of golf clubs. We had not had an opportunity to take them out, so on Father's Day Mister took her out in the back yard and taught her some golf basics.

 This one cracks me up
 Some sweet snuggles

Dash Proof

Mister took a video last night that further proves my Dash theory. I was in the shower while he was in charge of the babies- furry and human. It's a little long, but you get to hear Coco's sweet new sounds!

A Dash & a Dixie

You know how they say people are like their pets? Well, we have babies like our pets.

Munchkin is our Dixie: wants to be nearby, but takes snuggles on her terms. A little reserved and nervous in new situations, but once she knows you she can hardly contain her excitement! Always wanting to please, she's ever so helpful.

Then there's Coco. We laughed about getting "a Dash" before she came and sure enough if she doesn't fall right in step. Coco knows when the family sits down for dinner and cries to be a part of the group. She would snuggle you all day every day if she had her choice. Our latest Coco funny is that we put her on a blanket in the bathroom while other family members get baths or showers. This weekend she FELL ASLEEP on the floor while Munchkin was hollering in the shower. She want to hear voices and know that you're there.
We envision her as our social butterfly who would love to be best friends with everyone she meets. Guess we'll see!

Hold on to Jesus

My very dear friend sent us a baby gift that included a new lullaby cd. It's Coco's current nap selection and has been incredibly powerful to me lately. My favorite song on it is called "Hold on to Jesus" by Erin O'Donnell.
You're a little piece of heaven
You're a golden ray of light
And I wish I could protect you
From the worries of this life
But if there's one thing I could tell you
It's no matter what you do
Hold to Jesus, He's holding onto you

The world will try to tell you
That might is more than right
And beauty's on the outside
And being good's, a losing fight
But remember what I've told you
'Cause the world will make you choose
Hold to Jesus, He's holding on to you

Hold on to Jesus, and cling to His love
Rest deep in His mercy, whenever things get rough
And don't lose sight of His goodness
And don't ever doubt this truth
That when you hold on to Jesus
He's holdin onto you, Yeah

Hear me dear Jesus
Rock this little one to sleep
Keep her close when she's scared
And give her grace when she is weak
I know she'll stumble, but I know she'll make it through
If you hold on to her, just like you said you'd do
Hold her Jesus so she'll hold on tight to you
Coco has been needing some extra special looking after. She's ok, but her bladder and kidneys are functioning in a way that could make her sick. We have a HUGE blessing of having seen it before she's ever had an issue, but it means a lot of nervous testing and waiting to see what happens as she continues to grow. God has shown his guiding hand through all of this, even back to discovering the issue before she was even born, and we continue to be blessed with good doctors.
She thinks she gets to keep going to these spas that rub her down with warm gel while they take pictures, or she holds hands with Mommy in a dark calming room with only the hum of machines and her lullabies playing while she naps.

Mommy (and Daddy sometimes, depending on work) gets to stand by and watch, trying our hardest to hold on to Jesus and trust him with our newest treasure.

...hold on to her, just like you said you'd do
Hold her Jesus so she'll hold on tight to you
I'm convinced that God uses dogs to deliver snuggles as liberally as needed.

Coco is 1 month!

I promise to go back and show you Munchkin's birthday and newborn pictures, but Coco is a month old already! She is so much more awake these days and we've gotten a few smiles. She is over 10lbs now and starting to make some non-crying sounds. She coos and will look at toys on occasion.
Once again Dash is super protective and wants to sit next to her just to make sure she's ok.
 Don't cry baby
Sister comparison
Old man face, but this is her sort of smile. These show her reddish hair. It's very strawberry blonde these days, depends on the lighting, but sometimes it's almost orangey it's so red, but other times it's just dirty blonde.

 Mommy, too many pictures!
She loves to cuddle with her big sister, and Munchkin asks all the time to hold her. Coco will just settle in and watch Munchkin.
 My beauties!
 Annnd we're done.
