Asi-asi

So turns out, my time teaching in Texas was pretty beneficial to my Spanish language abilities. I have impressed a couple Hispanic mothers, and confused an interpreter. YES! Anyhow, one of the colloquial phrases I learned from a family was "asi-asi", it literally means so-so and that's how it was used in my classroom learning, but apparently when used with a  toddler it means 'like so-like so' i.e. copy me.

So without further ado: remember this?

Well, apparently her sister does the same thing. I'm pretty sad that the sound didn't work, but I think you get the picture.

Sister reading

This is how we've been doin story time lately. They both love it and Munchkin thinks it's hilarious when Coco "asks questions"

Rainy Day

Gramma says we need to post more. Fortunately, we had some cute pictures and videos today.

We had a severe thunderstorm this afternoon and we had a river running down in between each house and down the street (yay for good drainage). Munchkin thought this was pretty cool.
 So much joy!
The earthworms were getting carried away in the rivers, so we rescued a few and put them back in our garden.
Clearly a bath day! Look what Munchkin can do now!!! She just started doing it tonight, my brave girl!

Then we had a little chat with her sister while she had some naked baby time.
Listen to that tinkle of a laugh!

4 months

Coco is 4 months old in 2 hours!! She had her checkup a few days ago and she is currently 25" which puts her in the 77th percentile, 16 whopping pounds and 14.5 ounces coming in at the 93rd percentile, and a head circumference that is in the 95th percentile. This is evident in more practical ways such as this is a 6month outfit, and she is in many 9month jammies, particularly when we add in a cloth diaper. Sigh. So much for having girls that matched up in seasons. In any case, this is Coco's improved prop sitting. She looks like a gorilla. She can't roll over, and has no interest (see above with the big head business), but her sitting is getting better and she loves to stand.

 My happy happy girl!

Munchkin wanted in on the action. They love each other so much, its wonderful!

 Having a quick conversation
 Coco telling her a story
 Munchkin thinks it's pretty hilarious
Pet or sister? Not much difference at this point
Big sister is a great motivation for tummy time
 One last sweet picture

America's sport

Munchkin has enjoyed her baseball set on and off, but last weekend we caught her in the backyard bat in one hand, ball in the other, tossing the ball for herself and swinging to try to hit it for Dixie. She had about a 20% success rate, impressive if you ask me. So Mister headed out to pitch and help her with her form. She improved to about a 50% success rate, which is pretty awesome!
 Helping her with her stance
 Studying foot placement
 The catcher
Sports vocabulary is hard...
 Her biggest fan!
 Yay Munchkin!
Attempt at clapping? Nah, but it's a cool picture
 Ready to try again
 Swing and a miss
 HA!
 Try try try again
 Nailed it!!
 So proud of herself
This is her idea of running the bases. Good prep for nap time!

Back to School

So August came and went in a whirlwind! Mommy started back to work, but not without a little drama. We lost our babysitter the day before school started, so we patched together a week and then Gramma came to nanny for 2 weeks until we could find someone new. Our guardian angels were working as always because the new situation is even better than the original. Anyhow, the point is, here are cute pictures of Munchkin and Coco:
Look what Coco can do! She's pretty floppy, but with the help of the Boppy she can prop for a bit.
This is how it always ends up, but to be fair, Munchkin distracted her.
Munchkin discovered tents somehow. This is her new favorite thing to do: make a tent with Coco's floor mat and play with her under it.
 Coco's clearly into it
