Merry Christmas Videos!

Merry Christmas blog friends! Here are our videos from the day. I'll post pictures in the next day or so. 

This was one of Munchkin's presents: a lego Cinderella set. We're starting in on Disney princesses early at our house! 

Gingerbread House

Sigh, Munchkin's sick again. Grandpa says its a sinus infection. She took a 4hr nap today, and went promptly down at normal bedtime again. She's all gunky and whiny. Just in time for Nana and Pop-O to visit! 

Tonight we made a gingerbread house. Lady had to do some quick thinking to make it where Munchkin could help, but once we got the cookies coated with icing she enjoyed putting the candies on. 

 When Munchkin got any icing on her hand, she would hold it up to me and say "lick it?". 

haha Of course, she was allowed.

Taste test

 Initially, Lady dumped the candies onto the towel. They promptly went flying ALL over the dining room. Note to self: Bowl is better. 

  The candies were pretty small, so I told her to lick them instead of eating them. Then they made their way onto the house. Yummmm...

Practice Christmas

We had a practice Christmas with Gramma & Grandpa so that they could see Munchkin open her presents.  See the things in front of the tree? Those are for the 4 of us. See the things to the left of the tree? Those are for Munchkin. :)

 We did this after nap, so Munchkin was a little in awe of all of the presents that suddenly appeared.

SANTA! and Gramma & Grandpa

Gramma & Grandpa left, just in time for crunch week of school and a snow day to boot, so these are a little late going up. They came to do an early Christmas with us, and boy did Munchkin have fun with her "Gumma" and "siddy (silly) Gumpa"! She loved stealing Gramma's glasses and wearing them. 

 Gramma replenished her stock of baby cheesies. This is something that we always have to fix when Gramma leaves, because whenever Munchkin wants to eat all she has to do is say "cheesies Gumma" and it is so. :) Spoiled rotten= so very loved! 

 At least she's willing to share. 

 Reading with Grandpa

 We went to see Santa at Cabella's and it started snowing on us! Good thing we were prepped with our snow gear!

 She liked crunching in it. This was her first walking around in snow experience. 

 I feel the need to preface that this Santa was TERRIBLE! He didn't speak to Munchkin at all. 

 She did NOT want to sit with him, or touch him, or wave to him... nothing. 

 Again.. bad Santa.

P.S. We went to the grocery store a few days ago and Santa and Mrs. Claus were there. We walked in and Munchkin waved to them. We hovered for a little bit and talked about them, and waved some more. Eventually, we went over and said hi, Munchkin zipped up as soon as we got close, but she gave Santa a high-five, he shared his jingle bell with her, Mrs. Claus gave her a cookie, and there were no tears. No picture to prove it, but it was a much more successful trip. 

Snow Day

Well, it snowed all night, but more importantly, we had 20-30mph winds. By the time we got to morning, we had a couple inches on the driveway and a few drifts that were 8-10in deep. Lady got to stay home from work, so Munchkin stayed home from school. Mister had a delayed start and he was in training, so he had to go in so that he would get credit for his class. Bummer. 

But we did get to sleep in, have family breakfast, and take Munchkin out in her first walking snow (Last year she was just nicely pulling up on furniture when it snowed). 

She was not impressed. The snow was super powdery and slick, perfect for skiing, not so perfect for toddlers. Also, turns out, she was sick all day, so that didn't help her desire to go out and play. She was very unsure about walking out of the garage into the snow, but she followed Dash out and then promptly fell into a drift. Haha! Then she was done. 

Besides, Mister was shoveling and the wind was blowing snow in her face. Even Mommies don't like that!

  She quite enjoyed watching Mister shovel from the safety of behind the front door. :) We went out later that afternoon and crunched in the deeper snow and she thought that was funny, but held on tight this time. 

There's Daddy! **Note to AhHa, her shirt is tucked in because it's a onesie, not because she's a goofus. :) You should've seen what Gramma tried to do to her. Pants to her rib cage. Never fear, I made her change it.

Knowing

Munchkin learned a new word today: snowing. Only it sounds like "knowing". She really likes watching the snow, I can't wait to see what she thinks tomorrow when it's really deep. I'm certain it will be snow suit worthy. Currently, at 7pm, we have not had school or work cancellations, but the city has declared a state of emergency and asked people to stay off the roads until 5pm tomorrow... soooo.... not sure how that's gonna work out. They're trying to prove how Nebraska tough they are. 

Mommy is still trying to reconcile her Texas upbringing with her newfound snow skills. I had a mild panic attack last night trying to think of all the things I'd forgotten to take care of before it snowed. It's really not that big of a deal here. They have the infrastructure to make it not be a big deal, and I've seen that in action. Her friends at work were very proud of her for wearing snow boots today instead of flats with no socks. :) They worry about me. 

Tutu cute

Munchkin came to me tonight carrying both of her tutus from her play room, repeating "tutu tutu tutu". I asked if she wanted to put one on and she repeated "on". So I asked her which one, and she held up both. So I took them and held them out, and asked her to point to which one she wanted to wear... and she grabbed both. So I picked one and put it over her head and fixed it for her. "There, now you have your tutu on". She picked up the other one, handed it to me, and said "two". Far be it from me to tell the child how to dress *eye roll*, so I put the second one on and she said "two" and started spinning. haha sweet girl. So she has on leggings, a skirt, a glitter tutu, and a pumpkin tutu, it was her dinner outfit. The jacket was also at her request, I tried to take it off and she kept trying to put it back on by herself, so we practiced putting it on and it stayed. At least we're getting teachable moments right?

**She ended up making a mess of her outfit at dinner and, unfortunately (I think), had to change into a new outfit for our life group Christmas dinner. Once the tutus were off, she didn't want them back on. Too bad. 

Singing

Gramma and Lady were discussing Munchkin's continued love of music today so I thought we'd show off our new skills. 

That's partially true: we really were talking about it. And then the Lady went to pick up Munchkin and on the way home we were talking about what Munchkin had done that day. She told me she'd played with her friend Harper, and she kept saying "shh shh shh, shh shh shh", so I took a stab in the dark and started singing "wheels on the bus". I was shocked! She knew it all and loved it! Now we can expand from "Ring around the Rosie" and "Itsy Bitsy Spider". 

I was telling the director at her school about her wandering around the house singing "ashes ashes" over and over again, and laughing with them about how cute and creepy it was. Her teacher assistant came out and joined in and she said she'd finally taught Munchkin to spin around by herself when she sang the song. She explained that before, Munchkin was so eager to hold hands with her friends that she was chasing them and tackling them so they would hold her hand and do "ring around the Rosie", and they didn't appreciate it. So she showed her how she could spin in a circle and dance by herself. Her friend Harper dances with her but she has adopted the twist as her go to dance. hahaha Sweet girls.

Piggy

This little piggy grew long hair.
And this little piggy grew it in weird patches so Mommy couldn't do anything with it.
And this little piggy decided she wanted to wear bows to school.
So this Mommy bought tiny rubber bands to experiment.
And this little piggy said, "piddy (pretty) Dada".

Outtakes

This weekend I attempted to take pictures for our Christmas card. I got an awesome deal off of Groupon thanks to referring a friend! You don't get our picture until it comes in the mail, but you may enjoy the castaways. :) Merry Christmas!

 Some of these turned out really sweet, but we had a particularly runny nose and took a milk break that Mommy didn't notice thereby giving ourselves a dirty face. 

 I love this picture. Just under her left eye is a tear from watery eyes. Apparently, the mold was out in full force yesterday. *sigh*
