Munchkin Decorations

Dear Pintrest, Thanks for making me feel like a super creative Mommy. I have stolen 3 ideas this week: my pumpkin spice cake/muffin was delish, I'm super excited about the gift that's on its way to Grandad Ross, and Munchkin got her own Christmas tree today! 

Mister and I hung her tree on the wall last night and I showed it to her after school today. She came straight in and knew just what to do with it. 

We are destined for horrible hat hair all season long. Sigh

Here is the progression of tearing off all of the ornaments from the tree. She would brush off a bunch, say "oops", and brush off more. *see video*

Fewer

Trying to put them back up again. Outfit was super cute, but the dress was a little short and the leggings a little long.

Undoing the bows on the presents. Good thing they're tied on for real. I started by trying to use fabric glue, but it came right off- not helpful. 

I apologize in advance for this video. I started it one way, then took it a different way and couldn't rotate it without losing 90% of the picture. Therefore, it will only be shown on the blog. We are having to work very hard on what comes out of our mouths right now because it is ALL being repeated. When Mommy drops something and says "shoot", I hear, "sssooot". I think you can probably tell what word Mommy is trying to be careful to use when something undesirable happens. 

Thankful

This year I'm thankful for a healthy and intelligent Munchkin. I cannot even put into words how blessed we are. Even as her true toddler is starting to come out with a few tantrums and "no"s she is still precious. She is getting funnier and her ability to understand humor is coming along. 

This year, after many schedule changes, Nana and PopO came to visit us for Thanksgiving. They brought their doggy Sable with them, and Munchkin showed off her newfound clarity in speech. It's funny she picks up certain words and they just come out clear as a bell. "Sa-ble", for instance. 

She also showed off her new counting ability. She's started identifying the numbers, 2 is her favorite. They're just pictures to her still, but Mommy had told Daddy not worry about it because Munchkin wasn't ready for numbers yet. HA! Showed me. 

We also went to the tree lighting parade at the shopping center by our house on Thanksgiving Eve. Munchkin loved it. She liked the band and we saw Santa, but she didn't much care about him. 

The most important sighting was WEE WEE WEE! She was thrilled!

There were fireworks, and Munchkin liked to watch them, but they got a little loud for her. Nanas make good earplugs however. She would press her little ears up against Nana's cheek and strain those eyes to still watch. haha

 It was chilly out, so the pictures did not get to showcase Munchkin's new outfit from Ah Ha. It's pretty sweet.

 Munchkin got a full plate, but same as last year- she only ate the sweet potatoes. oh well

 She did like Nana's homemade whipped cream. As soon as she got a bite down she would start repeating "bite bite bite bite" until Nana could get another fork full to her. 

Enchanted neighborhoods

I am again amazed at the wonderful things Munchkin is learning these days. She's hit the stage of learning where kids start to pick up on abstract concepts like pretending. This morning, all by herself, Munchkin took Winnie and put him in the dog bed and said, "night night" and gave him a kiss. I came in and also gave him a kiss and said "night night" and walked away. Munchkin turned to the coffee table, grabbed a dish towel and held it up looking at me. I told her it was ok for her to use it. She unfolded it and lay it on top of Winnie the same way I cover her up in bed. Again, she told him "night night" and "wuv". It was so precious and I am so proud of her.! What a big girl!

Mister won

Well, it's happened. Mister won the 2nd most important game in baby language, behind only to who's name is said first. This video is the 2nd time he came down stairs, the first time was spontaneous. She said, "Dada, Bye bye, Wuv" and waved "bye" and signed "I love you". Sigh, he gets all the good stuff.

Election week

Munchkin is too busy to worry about politics or presidents this week. Although, she was pleased with her sticker that Mister brought her. 

We discovered this new trick. She started by crawling into the bottom shelf and that was pretty fun. Then, we heard her getting into the cabinet and thought 'eh, we'll go check in a second... and this is how we found her'. 

 This day, was a day for books. Lots of them. She really loves books, it's probably her favorite activity. 

At work, one of the teachers was getting rid of a Pooh that was loved by her 3 children and then used with a few of our families. Naturally, we jumped on it. 

 Annnd Munchkin was in love.

In other news, our fall tree is up! 

Game Time

Happy Saturday family and friends! We're ready for the A&M game to come on! Lady thought: ohhh we'll go down and get our shoes from Nana, even though they're probably still a half size too big. Guess what they're called? Team Squeaks. Crap. So I put them on and told her over and over, these are going to squeak when you step, ready, ready, listen.... She put her feet down, squeaked, stared at her feet for a second, and then stomped her feet really fast and laughed. It was hilarious. Here was shortly after that. 

Then Lady made a new game with an egg carton and pipe cleaners. Grandpa made fun of Lady because she bought pipe cleaners and when he asked what we were going to make, I said I got them to practice our fine motor skills. :) Well, HA, we did make something: we made a birthday cake... Annnd thereby practiced our fine motor skills of putting the pipe cleaners in and pulling them out, learned pretend skills of singing Happy Birthday and blowing the candles out, learned problem solving skills of straightening the pipe cleaners when they bent, and worked on our colors and their signs. Amazing what you can learn from pipe cleaners! Besides, Grandpa, these are all your hard earned tuition dollars (and my hard earned loan money) at work! :) Munchkin really does have impressive fine motor skills for her age, her teachers at school say so too. Maybe we have a surgeon on our hands?!
