A Merry Munchkin Christmas

Merry Christmas Munchkin! Pre-opened loot picture. She was ready to get started.
Well, if you won't let me open that one, how about this one?
Forget you, Mom, I'm starting in on these!
Daddy holds the present, Munchkin tears the paper.
 Book from Nana & PopO
 Books from G&G
 New diapers!
 Helping open the bag

 New outfits for spring

 Blue Macaws Munchkin!
Inspecting the contents of the box while Mister pulls them out individually.
 More outfits

This toy sounded like a dog one... alas, it was a Munchkin toy.

I don't understand, but all of these pieces look delicious.
Grammas and Nanas have good ideas.
 Oversized cat toy
 Munchkin's first piano!
 Playing with the bag
 Merry Christmas puppies
I realize now that there are no pictures of parent faces at all in my collection. *sigh* oh well, Munchkin's cuter than us anyway. We were overly blessed this Christmas as well with shopping money and dinner gift cards and workout toys. All in all a wonderful Christmas!

We made a huge breakfast of bacon, eggs, cinnamon rolls, and hash browns. Munchkin even got some egg whites. She didn't like them very much, they weren't big enough for her to mash up in her mouth and she couldn't figure out how to manipulate them back to swallow them, so at the end she had a mouthful of egg pieces. THEN I remembered that "the book" (or possibly my internet source) said to give babies egg yolks first not egg whites because they're less allergenic... this after I worked so hard to get her the egg whites... whatever- no reaction- she's fine.

Christmas Movies

Thanks to our Christmas present from last year we were able to capture the Munchkin opening her presents on film. Sorry it gets a little bumpy there for a second- blame Dash. Pictures coming soon of her with all her fun treats.

Preparations

Munchkin "found" our tree just a few days ago. I think she realized what it was after being stuck up against the tree for pictures in Texas. So then she started rolling herself under it to gently play with the low hanging ornaments and try to eat the branches. Thankfully they sit just high enough for they could barely reach her mouth.
Caught

Then she rolled over and discovered presents...
...and proceeded to eat them.
We went to a Christmas Eve service early (5pm) on Saturday night. Mister likes doing midnight services but we agreed that Munchkin would probably not do well. Obviously we wore our pretty Christmas dress for the occasion.
At the end of the service, instead of passing around candles to light, they passed out glow sticks because we meet in a high school auditorium. Munchkin was in awe, and was starting to get a little fidgety at that point anyway, so Mister and I masterfully distracted her with our alternating glow sticks.
At one point she found the flower on her head and pulled on it, only to pop herself in the forehead with it. We laughed a lot and thankfully she didn't cry.

Susie-talks-a-lot

I decided to break up the Christmas post because there is just entirely too many pictures. Get ready for an onslaught of Christmas Day.....

Our precious gift

We have been so blessed by our little Munchkin this year. It has been incredible to watch her grow and change. Looking back at the pictures from bringing her home, it's hard to imagine her so small. I'm sure a lot of that memory is blurred by sleep deprivation, but overall we have been blessed with a very good baby. She is by no means easy, but she is really good. She only fusses when there's something wrong. (Of course a I say that, we spent what seemed like eternity tonight listening to her cry because we are having to redo some sleep training after the time change and crazy schedule.) She's a great eater, and normally a good sleeper (see above)- which I know makes her Grandparents crazy. I am fairly certain that we are going to get it bad in another time of life, but we are absolutely counting our blessings now.

Munchkin really likes the ornaments on the tree, she jut likes to touch them. Especially Gramma's sparkly ones.
She also really likes her tutu.

Christie came to see if Munchkin had any presents for her. Apparently, she's been checking under the tree ever since it went up.
 Maybe in here?
 Our sweet gift.
 This is my favorite!
 Always talking
