Mister's First Father's Day
I debated for a long time about what Munchkin should get her Daddy for his first Father's Day. Well, then I got sick and couldn't do much shopping around, so we ended up with this fun treat that I think he was pretty pleased about. Nana helped us paint Munchkin's feet and stamp them on a shirt. Mister said it made him feel like a real Dad to get a craft present. :) Don't you worry, babe, there will be many many more. He says I can't encourage ugly tie buying, but he will allow it if it is her idea.
The best present he got, however, came from Munchkin herself. He got our first purposeful responsive smile! No gas, no burps, just straight love for her Daddy. I think he was making funny faces at her and she just lit up with a big smile. She's done it a little more since then, but I'm glad he got to be the first one. I'm always amazed as how she has responded to him from the very beginning. Even when she was a few hours old she would quiet to his voice and just listen. When I was pregnant and Mister had been gone all day, he would come in and start talking and she would roll around like crazy because she heard him come home. So much for getting a Momma's girl. :)
