We got a Flat Stanley in the mail and just sent him back to Washington (state)- it was so fun! If you haven't heard of Flat Stanley, it's a geography/literacy project that many public schools do in 1st grade. You read about a little boy named Stanley that essentially gets squished into 2D and then travels all over the place with his family. Then each kid makes their own 'Stanley' and sends it to someone. Then it's like chain mail, but educational. That person takes Flat Stanley to different places that represent their town and writes a letter back to the class as Stanley and tells about their location. Then they send it on to somewhere else and the same thing happens. So the kids get to learn about a ton of different locations across the country/world. We got a Flat Stanley from some friends in Virginia, I don't have any idea who the original kid is, but we took some pictures and sent him some additional web pictures of our town. Flat Stanley got to go to the Dr. with us and Munchkin wasn't quite sure about him, but she really liked holding him. We didn't have very long before we had to return Flat Stanley (because school was ending), so we didn't get very many good pictures. Oh well, it was still fun and I hope we get to do it again!
Flat Stanley also told Miss McKee's class about the crops that we grow here, and some fun facts about farming! :) See how fun this is?!?!

She looks like she is protecting flat Stanley from the doctor:)
